Rise of the Guardians (review)

Last night Lawrence(my BF) and I watch the movie RISE OF THE GUARDIANS. At first I don't feel like watching it since I thought that it's just waste of money. However, before telling Lawrence what's on my mind, he already bought tickets.
Rise of the Guardians is an epic adventure that tells the story of a group of heroes -- each with extraordinary abilities, namely: Jack Frost, North, Sandy, Bunnymund and Tooth. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down a gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians joined forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.
Let's start with Jack Frost. He is the main character of the story. Jack longed to be believed in--children in the story never recognized him, for them he was just a figure of speech. At first he was not really a guardian, however, the "man in the moon" chose him to be one which has been a great shock for North, Sandy, Bunnymund and Tooth (they were the only guardians before jack became one).
Next is North, also known as Santa Clause. Unlike our idea of Santa, North has the color combination of red and black. The naughty and nice list are tattooed on his huge muscular arms. The creatures who are making his toys are the yetis and not the elves. I loved how they portrayed the Yetis, they are huge and they have this santa-like face however they are covered with thick fur (i soooo love them). The elves were just there to look silly and to give cookies & eggnog to North's guest.
Another character is Bunnymund, also known as the Easter Bunny. He stands 6 ft. tall unlike our idea of the "cute" Easter bunny. He uses a boomerang and exploding eggs as his weapon. Bunnymund is afraid of heights and short tempered, however he has his soft side too, he's very emotional and even got teary eyed when sandman died (awwww).
One of my favorite character in the movie was Sandy, also known as Sand Man. He is very cute but don't be deceived by his cuteness because he really fights hardcore! Sandy glows and uses sand shaped whips as his weapon. He doesn't talk--he communicates through sand images that he forms above his head, much like a game of charades.
Moving on, another character is Tooth, also known as the Tooth fairy. She's very colorful, sort of like a humming bird and she really, I mean REALLY is fascinated with teeth (even with gums and blood--haha!). She's assisted by her fleets of mini fairies in collecting kids' tooth--one known mini fairy in the movie was named baby tooth.
They all teamed up because of Pitch, short for Pitch Black. He is the Boogieman and he dwells on everyone's fear to have powers. He is somehow similar to Jack Frost, longing to be recognized, the difference is HE IS EVIL!!! (he even killed Sandy in the movie--boooo!! good thing Sandy came back to life).
To summarize my movie experience, I loved it! It was surely not a waste of money. Fight scenes were great and you will surely look out for what's coming next (i don't even wan't to go to the rest room just to watch the entire film--haha!). The over all story was for kids, but I'm sure everyone would relate since we all go through childhood somehow. It is a movie worth watching and I give a perfect 5/5 rating ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
